The Welsh Stand Up Paddle Nationals, was a late call for us, the event was on Saturday and we only decided to go for it at nine o'clock on Friday night.

We left the house at around five o'clock; it was a solid drive from Anglesey to South Wales, Mumbles. We arrived at 9:20am which was just in time to register. First of all there was the races, because at high tide there is no wave, then there was the heats, then the heats began. I was in heat 2, the waves where small and mushy, but I got through in second

Next the junior final, which I positioned first place. Then as I had made it through, I was straight out into the mens semi-finals. The organisers had told us to go over to another part of the beach. It was larger, but it faded out into nothing, occasionally it ran all the way into the beach. again I managed to scrape through to the finals in second place.

The finals where much the same as the semi-finals, but windier, more onshore and very very choppy!! I got last in that heat, but it's still 4th overall, which I am stoked with!!!

The event was very well organised, easy to follow and was well set up, so well done to them.
